Buck Deer

As with all of our guided hunts, the guided buck deer hunt includes lodging, meals, transportation in the field, and care of your harvested game. Although we schedule these hunts for three days over a specific four day period, they are a guaranteed opportunity hunt and we will add additional days as needed for you to have every opportunity for success. You will hunt one-on-one with your guide, who will take you to the areas of the ranch where the greatest opportunity exists.

Hunt openings are filled starting on January 1st of the hunt year and are filled on a first-come-first-served basis. The total amount is due at the time your application is accepted. Generally these hunts will be scheduled for November, as that is generally the best time to pursue big bucks on the ranch. But if that time period does not work for you, the hunts can be scheduled earlier in October or into the first week in December.

The goal is to harvest only older age mature bucks that are at least four years old that would qualify as a "Quality Deer Management" buck. We do not put point restrictions on this harvest as there are some forked horn bucks here that are truly trophy animals. In determining whether the hunter has had an "opportunity" to harvest, the guides will let you know when you are seeing acceptable bucks. Passing on these bucks will constitute an "opportunity." It will not end your hunt, but will determine whether your hunt would be continued into the following year.
