Black Bear

Our guided Black Bear Hunt has quickly become one of our most popular hunts. As with all of our guided hunts, this package includes all meals, lodging, transportation on the ranch, and care of your harvested game. The only things not included are your personal gear and any adult beverages that you may want to have following the day's hunting activities. The goal of this hunt is to harvest only trophy class bears with skull scores over 20 inches and weighing over 400 pounds, depending on the condition of the animal.

Hunt openings are filled starting on January 1st of the hunt year and are filled on a first-come-first-served basis. The total amount is due at the time of application.

The season here on the ranch runs from September 1 through mid-December, and we will hunt with you for as many days as needed to give you a reasonable opportunity to harvest a bear. These are dog pursuit hunts that entail the use of a large number of dogs and several guides, so they are more difficult to schedule and should be booked as far in advance as possible. Because these are trophy hunts, we will not waste the dogs or guides running anything smaller than our target animal. Bears of this size often do not tree; instead, they tend to bay up on the ground in heavy cover and rest while they fight off the dogs, only to run again. This makes for an extremely difficult hunt and is the most physically demanding hunt that we offer. You will need to be in very good physical condition in order to participate. If you want to hunt for a trophy bear, but have doubts as to your physical condition, please call us and we will be happy to discuss your options.

As with our other hunts, your tag is provided as part of your hunt fees.
