If I harvest my pig early, can I add an additional pig in the field?

We no longer allow hunters to take an extra pig in the field, you will be allowed to harvest only the number of pigs that you have purchased prior to the hunt....either one or two.

What if I want to hunt for only a trophy boar?

You may elect to hunt for boars only, however, if during your hunt the opportunity presents itself for you to harvest a meat pig and you chose to pass, that will be considered "opportunity" and your hunt will be concluded at the end of that scheduled hunt.

What do I need to bring on my hunt?

You only need to bring your personal gear, rifles, ammunition, binoculars, etc. and any alcoholic beverages that you wish to consume in the evening after your hunt is over for the day. All food items and drinks are furnished, the beds have sheets and blankets, and the cabins are equipped with bath towels, soap, and paper goods. If you want any specialty drinks or special snacks, you will want to bring those.

If I harvest my pig early can I stay in camp for the rest of the hunt?

Actually, your hunt is over when you harvest your animal, the exceptions to that are if you are part of a group that has not bagged out you are welcome to stay until the group is done. You may also stay the entire time if you have purchased the "addition of small game" option.

Can I shoot ground squirrels or other small game while I am hunting pigs?

Only if you have purchased the above option, in which case you could hunt any small game in season during your pig hunt. This is especially fun for hunts booked during that time of year when the days are long and the pigs are not active during the middle part of the day. During this time you can hunt pigs early and late and hunt small game during the day, when the pigs are not very active.

How big are the wild pigs?

Typically, the largest boars will be in the 275-325 lb. range when feed conditions are good or 50 lbs. less when feed on the ranch is short. The same holds true of meat type pigs, they will be from 150-225 lbs. when feed is good and 50 lbs. or so less during tougher feed times.
