Do I have to draw for a deer tag?

No, these hunts will be awarded on a first come-first served basis for the number of hunts that are available and the tags will be provided. You will have to have a California state deer tag application to exchange for the tag.

How big are the bucks?

Typically, you can expect to see heavy horned 3X3s and 4X4s that have spreads from 19-20 inches and greater in width. We do harvest a few bucks each year that have spreads out to 27-28 inches.

What kind of deer are these?

We have a range of animals that have the physical characteristics of both Blacktail deer and mule deer. By definition from the Boone and Crockett Club, this area is not within the range recognized as having Blacktail Deer. So, our deer are considered "California Mule Deer".

Are your deer eligible for inclusion in the record book?

Trophies from the ranch are eligible for inclusion in the Boone and Crockett record book. However, they are in the same category as Rocky Mountain mule deer and being a smaller sub-species, they are generally not big enough to achieve a high enough score to make it into the book.

How many guided buck hunts do you do each year?

That number varies from year to year depending on the availability of quality deer. At this time we do around 12 per year, but that number can go up.
