Pronghorn Antelope Hunt FAQ

What is a typical hunt like?

What caliber and type of gun is best?

Is this hunt a guaranteed opportunity?

How many days are these hunts scheduled for?

What is a typical hunt like?

We start at first light and do a lot of glassing until we locate the right buck. Then, depending on the terrain we will stalk to within reasonable shooting distance, which could require a shot of 200-300 yards or more. Stalking often entails crawling on rough gravelly soil with very sparse vegetation to hide behind. This is a very demanding but rewarding hunt.

What caliber and type of gun is best?

This is long range hunting at small thin skinned game. The lighter long range, flat shooting, bolt action rifles are the best. You want the gun that you shoot successfully from the longest range. The last 100 yards of a stalk is the most difficult so being able to shoot an extra 100 yards may help ensure success.

Is this hunt a guaranteed opportunity?

As with all of our guided hunts we do guarantee you a reasonable opportunity. If we fail to provide opportunity by the close of the season, we will have you back the following year without any additional charge.

Answer to Question 4

We normally schedule the hunts for 2-3 days; these do not tend to be long drawn out hunts. The animals are in relatively open country and the difficult part of the hunt is the stalk and the shot.
